Blizzard Warning HOLY MOLY!

This is going to be what is called sometimes a “Panhandle Hook” storm system. Kinda like what is called and Albuquerque low.

The Panhandle Hook, Is when the low pressure sets up over the far south edge of Colorado, or south some more along the panhandles of Texas and Oklahoma. The warm moisture from the south is whipped around the low and pushed onto the front range and whammo, upslope. Add to that a little cold, and there you go!

SNOW BABY IN DENVER!

This is cool as they have already closed most of the schools in the area and you know that was my favorite thing, or really far up there, “Snow day.” Very nice.

Depending on when the temp drops, will be the amount of snow we get. It is supposed to start raining . Tonight the rain may start at about 11 tonight and maybe even thunderstorms, wow! At night! Late night! In Denver! HOW ROMANTIC! It should get cold enough, along with the rain about 10 in the morning tomorrow for it to start to snow. So later, less snow, earlier then, more snow of course.

Usually we don’t get thunderstorms here at night they need the heating of the afternoon sun in the spring and summer, and even fall for that happen. I think we have covered afternoon, or monsoon rain here before.
With the record low pressure expected, or as it is, in this storm, that kinda puts the whole need for the energy of the afternoon sun heating the water vapor.

All of the things for a blizzard here and a major blizzard over the plains are here and we’re going to really get it hopefully. Lots of water in this storm, and baby we need the crops!

Still I did learn a new weather term, “Bomb Cyclone.”
