EL NINO LA NINA DIDN'T WANNA MEET YA, OR, WHAT IS UP WITH THAT ANYWAY?

(Image From Web)

I will have to make my own images when I bring this onto the new site. If that ever happens.

Well in the real world. The last cycle of El Niño was supposed to bring a bunch of water to Southern California and break their drought it did nothing like it. It is still as dry as can be there. Dry as a bone.

They said it will be a short weak event. Huh. 55% chance it will last through winter. Again, Huh.

So they are saying that it will be dry now. The La Niña is starting up, and this is supposed to make it dry. I am thinking they do not know. I think they really try and it's silly to watch.

They say heavier snow and stuff for the Northern Rockies, and the Great Lakes.

Along with that they are saying that it will be dryer in the south and California. Where they have not broken the drought they had before this cycle.

For here in Colorado it could go either way. So, plan of action?

Buy a new snow shovel or, sharpen the blades on your snow blower because again they have no idea what they are talking about. Even if they just sit there you will be glad you have them.

You can see on the maps above that the El Niño is supposed to bring more rain and moister however to the south and the south west. Huh, that just didn't happen.

This becomes interesting as you know that they have all of the data. Also, they have all of the history. I suppose that that is a data point, history is, but I want to make a point is they should have some idea and too often do not.

What happened to the rain in Southern California and across the deep south? I think this is a good question, NO?

As good as the short range, up to maybe 10 days I would say the forecasters are really very good at getting it in the ball park. But, you have to remember we do not know all of the variables or even close to it. And, this is a big and If we knew all the variables we would not be able to measure them all.

So that’s a brief rundown. Maybe more snow in the mountains for us. Not seeing it. Or maybe normal snow in the mountains for us, not seeing that either. We are running far below normal for this time of year.

The new graphic for El Niño. There will be one with El Niña too.
