Rainstorm Update Not “Monsoon,” yet!!

2018-05-18 1225p radar

And it moved through in about an hour, hit and run, as we are likely to say, and, I may or may not be. You gotta love this. The monsoon does start in the middle of June thereabout.

From the middle of June to about the middle of September, when a low pressure system sets up near Baja and high pressure sets up on the plains, pushing water vapor up from the gulf. Today’s storm is from the west, Pacific moisture, and, so not yet monsoon. However, it was a powerful thunderhead type storm, that had nickel sized hail in it. (That I saw.)

This is supposed to come in bands today, or, waves if you like we will see. This pattern is supposed to last for the rest of the week, also, again we will see. That seems a lot like the monsoon, but, it’s all about where the water is coming from. West, or south. From the south, monsoon. So as far as I can tell anyway.
