Here we go kids, just about ready to talk about this “Down Slope Wind,” we call it here the “Chinook.”

The arrows are pointing out on this very cool graphic how the wind coming from the west. This graphic is from a sight called Date and Time.

The wind row, with the direction going and the speed in mph shows how it warmed up through the night as shown in the graph above it. (see the arrows)

Turns out that the downslope wind warms up and that is called adiabatic heating.

See how this works? For my handbook I will make my own graphics for sure. Anyway that is how it gets warmer when the sun is down and it is snowing like hell in the mountains. Ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon baby!
